Learning Support at Kurrajong Public School
At our school, every student is supported and challenged to achieve their personal best. We know that all learners are unique and some may need extra help or adjustments to feel confident, while others benefit from enrichment opportunities to extend their learning. Our dedicated teachers and support staff work in partnership with families to provide tailored support and enrichment that meets each student’s individual needs.
Support that fits your child's needs
Our learning systems are designed to give every student the opportunity to thrive. This may include:
-
In-class adjustments such as simplified instructions, targeted guidance, or differentiated activities.
-
Personalised Learning Plans with clear goals and strategies tailored to individual students.
-
Regular check-ins to review progress and update supports or enrichment activities as needed.
-
One-on-one support from teachers or support staff.
-
Small group tuition to build literacy and numeracy skills, or to extend students through deeper, more complex tasks.
-
Assessment adjustments such as extra time, rest breaks, simplified language, or alternative formats.
-
Enrichment opportunities and tailored programs to extend high potential and gifted learners.
We know a child may benefit from additional support or enrichment when:
- Teachers notice changes in learning, engagement, or behaviour.
- Assessment results and learning progress highlight areas for extra help or extension.
- Parents and carers share concerns or request additional opportunities.
Working Together
Support and enrichment are always planned in partnership with families. We regularly meet with parents and carers to review progress and adjust plans so each student has the best chance to succeed.
If you think your child may benefit from extra help or extension, please contact us to arrange an appointment or request a call from their classroom teacher.
